WESTCO™ P-44 powder is an effective chemical peptizer for natural and synthetic rubber at temperatures above 120°C. Best performance is achieved at 150 to 160°C. Peptizing action is inhibited by sulfur so that rubber compounds do not undergo further viscosity reductions under storage conditions. Recommended use levels for natural rubber are 0.2 to 0.5 phr and 1.5 to 3.0 phr for synthetic rubber.
