WESTCO™ MBTS-GS Accelerator Granules – soft Benzothiazole disulfide (2,2I- Dithio-dibenzothiazole) CAS# 120-78-5
WESTCO™ MBTS-GS is a general purpose accelerator for sulfur cures. It is very active above 142°C (287°F). Unlike thiuram disulfides, WESTCO™ MBTS-GS does not split off active sulfur during vulcanization. For use in natural and synthetic rubber processing. WESTCO™ MBTS-GS has a higher critical temperature than MBT, preventing early-cure and scorching. To conduct processing safely, it is recommended that MBTS-GS be used in combination with basic accelerators such as TMTD. The GS is a granular form with a low crush strength to ensure rapid and complete incorporation in mixed compounds.
