WESTCO™ HMMM-98% 98% Hexa (methoxymethyl) melamine carrier CAS# 3089-11-0
WESTCO™ HMMM-98% is a Hexa (methoxymethyl) melamine resin. It is used as a crosslinking agent with resorcinol or a novolak resin and as an adhesion promoter in rubber compounds with a variety of substrates. It is recommended as a replacement for hexamethylene-tetramine due to lower toxicity and less effect on scorch times.
Recommendations for usage
• Dosage is typically 1.5 – 4.5 phr with 0.5 to 3.0 phr resorcinol
• Addition of 5 – 10 phr silica will enhance the adhesion properties
• Mix temperature should not exceed 100C once resorcinol or novolak is present.
