NON-STAINING ANTIOXIDANT
(2.2’-methylenebis-(4-methyl-6-tertiary-butylphenol))
Description:
Westco™ AO-2246 is a highly effective
non-staining non-discoloring phenolic antioxidant.
Applications:
Westco™ AO-2246 can be used as the primary stabilizer
in a wide range of synthetic elastomers including
polybutadiene, styrene-butadiene, neoprene, butyl,
halobutyl and nitrile rubber. Westco™ AO-2246 is
highly recommended for use in natural and synthetic
latex rubber, latex products, caulks, sealants, and
adhesives.
Westco™ AO-2246 can be used in
thermoplastic elastomers, polyurethane foams,
engineering resins, ABS, and is recommended for
evaluation in all clear, white or light-colored
polymeric systems requiring protection against
oxidation.
Safe Handling:
Observations during manufacture and handling of
Westco™ AO-2246 have shown no evidence of dermatitis
or other toxic effects. The usual precautions for
handling chemicals, as eye protection and avoidance
of contact, should be exercised. Good personal
hygiene should be practiced.
Storage:
Westco™ AO-2246 is stable over long periods of time
when stored under normal conditions and in the
original containers. If discoloration does develop,
antioxidant properties or color of the finished
product will not be affected.
